I have to tell you around 3pm I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to get in my 10,000 steps. I was feeling really tired and the count was still very low. Thankfully things picked up.
It’s 6pm and I’m officially past the half way mark. I’m just over 8000 steps right now as I type this update up, so I’m keeping it short. Going to go and do some housework jobs. It’s amazing how many steps you can add up in not that long doing a few extra house chores.
I’ve got the laundry to put away, so I’ll be up and down the stairs a few times. Jack, my teenage son is enjoying this challenge. I’m up and down the stairs taking him a drink, taking his laundry to him etc. Any reason to get a few extra steps in.
Okay off I go, I’ll check back in a little later.
10,000 steps evening update
Woohoo, feeling great. I did some tidying jobs and then I’ve been dancing out the steps with the music blasting out. I got all hot and sweaty and I’m now on 10876 steps, yey.
Do you know what, I’m so pleased with this result and I’ve still got a few hours before bed. I was relly struggling earlier and I would often have just sat at the computer and not pushed myself. I feel so fantastic that I did push myself.
I hope these updates are inspiring you.
Seriously if I can do it, you can do it. There’s a little bit of me that feels a bit off sharing these updates. It feels a bit like bragging. That’s so not my intention.
10,000 steps a day is absolutely nothing for a lot of people but I know for me I could easily be averaging 3,000 steps a day if I wasn’t consciously trying to increase my health and fitness levels.
If you’ve been following my journey to lose weight, get fitter and healthier, you’ll know that at the beginning of 2015 I was over 13 stone and had been told I was pre-diabetic. Mind you, I really didn’t need to be told I was unhealthy, I already knew it.
So, doing things like this challenge really is a big deal for me. It shows me how far I’ve come and I’m proud of myself.
I hope it will give you encouragement to do things to get fitter and healthier too.
Whether you’re doing the 10,000 steps challenge with me or something else, I’d love to hear from you.
What are you doing to get fitter and healthier?
Best wishes as always.
