Are you comfort eating or emotional eating?
Comfort eating and eating to mask negative emotions certainly played a big part in my own long-term weight gain.
I ate because I was bored, lonely, angry, anxious, worried, upset, felt unloved…
Maybe you can spot some of these emotions that have you eating.
In the video below I’ve shared a few tips to help you avoid comfort eating and a technique called EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), I have found this to be a really effective way to release the negative emotions and release that feeling that I just want to eat, to fill a gap emotionally or to make myself feel better.

If you’re new to using EFT, you might think it’s a bit weird or silly, but I can honestly tell you that it’s the most effective technique I know that we can use ourselves to shift negative emotions. Stop them from controlling our lives and what we eat.
Phrases you might use to tap out the negative emotions using EFT…
Instead of comfort eating, I’m tapping today to release this…
these feelings of being unloved, unworthy…
When you do the positive EFT, you can tap in phrases like:
I want more happiness in my life
I want more affection…
I want more understanding…
I want to feel calm
I want more love…
There’s no right or wrong word to say. The main thing is that you focus on the feeling you either want to release or have more of.
