Day four and I can’t tell you how pleased I am that I set myself this 5-day 10,000 daily steps challenge. I know that if I hadn’t done this, I’d have been averaging at around 5,000 – 6,000 most days.
Being on the challenge has really made me get up and get moving when I haven’t always felt like it.
It’s just gone 4.30pm and I’m already over 8,000 steps.
I’m going to pop a couple of baked potatoes in the oven now ready for our evening meal and take Indie out for another walk.
Mum came over earlier and we did a 30 minute (approx) walk, then I spent about 20 minutes doing jobs in the garden. Oh and I did some random dance moves in the kitchen for about 10 minutes. I hope my neighbours weren’t watching. What with my weird one item from the washer to the furthest point on the washline routine, I think they may begin thinking I’m slightly insane. Oh well, as long as I keep getting my steps in, I can cope with that.
Then I’ve pretty much been sat for most of the rest of the afternoon working on the computer, but I’ve tried to keep getting up and building up.
Evening steps update
I’ve done my 10,000 steps. It’s 8.30pm and I’m on 10, 230. Super pleased with that. I wouldn’t have gone for that extra walk if I hadn’t have been on the challenge.
I also feel like I deserve bonus applaus today due to my gardening time. I didn’t get so many steps in but it was good stretching.
I’m chilling with my son now for the next 30 minutes (Big Bang Theory time), then I’m going for a nice bubble bath and getting an early night with my new book.
I hope you’ve had a brilliant day. And do let me know if you’re doing the 10,000 daily steps challenge and what you’re doing to increase your step count.
Catch up tomorrow
