I love Easter chocolate and I have no intention of missing out on Easter eggs and big family meals over the Easter break. So yes, chocolate will be on the menu for me this Easter.
Yes, I’m still on my weight loss journey and I could just say no to everything, sit at home with a salad and feel downright miserable. No, that’s not going to work for me at all.
One of my favourite sayings is I eat what I want, when I want, only when I’m hungry and I STOP when I start to feel full.
Okay, I’m careful not to eat complete junk. I do try to base the bulk of my diet around natural foods. But if there’s something you really like then I believe it’s okay to have it. Otherwise. we just end up feeling deprived.
Well, I do anyway.
Here are my Easter Egg eating tips for when you’re on a weight loss journey
- Make it last. Eat your easter egg/eggs but instead of eating the whole lot in one go, make it last. Take a piece of the chocolate and leave the rest somewhere else.
- Really enjoy it when you do eat your chocolate – eat mindfully
- Slow it down. Try letting the chocolate melt in your mouth rather than chomping it down in big chunks
- Share, if you can stand it.
And with big family meals
Again slow things down, drink plenty of water, relax and enjoy the food – Eat mindfully
Get some extra exercise
Get out and go for a walk in the fresh air, go for a run, do some star jumps, play action games with the kids, create a treasure hunt, spring clean the house.
Drink lots of water
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that I bang on about drinking water all the time, but honestly, do it. It makes a massive difference to the way you feel, look and aids your weight loss. It will give you extra energy and will help flush out anything your body doesn’t need or want.
Okay, all that’s left for me to say is Happy Easter. I’m off to get my trainers on and take the dog for a walk. It’s a beautiful day here in Lincolnshire.
