If you’re anything like me, then the idea of fitting in an hour-long fitness workout is not going to work, so I’ve put together a 5-minute exercise routine.
During my day I can do this routine a few times. This won’t necessarily get you super fit, but if it’s the difference between no exercise and some exercise, I personally think this is a great option.
Taking an hour or even half an hour out of my working day is not an option most day and to be perfectly honest I really don’t feel motivated to get started on that kind of workout.
If I just think “Well it’s only 5 minutes. I can do that” I will just get on with it.
Mix it up and add your own things you enjoy.
5-minute exercise routine
I’ve given you a rough guide to timings. You don’t need to be exact.
- Walk up and down stairs (1 minute)
- Wall push ups (1 minute)
- Plank 20 seconds + 10 seconds rest (twice)
- Jogging on the spot (1 minute)
- Star jumps (30 seconds)
- Walking on the spot or around the house (30 seconds)
Step it up
You can put as much as you can into each exercise and increase the intensity such as running up the stairs and walking down, doing floor push ups, you can run as fast as you can on the spot instead of gentle jogging…
For beginners
Take it easy and build it up. For example, you can do kneeling planks and then progress to full planks, you can walk instead of jog…
Wall push ups
Star Jumps
I hope you enjoy trying out my 5-minute exercise routine. Let me know how you get on.
Of course, you can switch it up and add your own favourite quick exercises.
