What physical activities did you like to do when you were a child? I’m not talking school P.E lessons, although if you liked any of those activities write them down on a sheet of paper now.
Make a list of all the activities you liked as a kid.
Here’s my list
I’ve got dancing, skipping, hop scotch, playing tennis up the wall, riding my bike, star jumps, hand stands, cartwheels, head over heals, trampolining.
I dance and do start jumps nearly every day and love it.
I have a gravel yard so skipping is a bit tricky at home, but I skip when I go to mums, play tennis up the wall and play hopscotch with the kids.
I don’t currently have a bike, but I will be hiring a bike on my holidays.
I can still do a handstand and I think I can do a cartwheel (sort of), again this is something for mums garden. I’ll be practicing over the weekend.
And I’m going to invest in a mini trampoline.
No doubt I’ll remember some more things I enjoyed doing over the next few days and I can add them to the list.
I encourage you to make your own list and find out if you still enjoy them, so you can get moving even more.
I think the key to adding more physical activity into your day to day life is finding things we enjoy and are willing to maintain for life.
