With a New Year fastly approaching us, many of us are beginning to think about the changes that we would like to make with our new year’s resolutions. One of the most common resolution is for people to lose weight and become healthier, yet many people fail after the first few weeks. This is likely due to lack of motivation and resources, so this article is going to tell you how you can motivate yourself for a healthier 2018.
Take a picture and display an old one
A fantastic way of creating motivation for yourself is to take a picture of yourself now and put it in places around your home that will deter your from grabbing the naughty foods like the kitchen snack cupboard. This will remind you of what you’re trying to prevent yourself from staying as and should change your mind from scoffing a chocolate bar, to choosing a piece of fruit instead.
Putting a photo up that you aspire to be like again is also a fantastic way of motivating yourself to stick on plan. Put this photo in places like the mirror by the front door, and in your bedroom so that you can remind yourself that you’re working towards looking like that again.
Dig out the old clothing
Another brilliant way of motivating yourself is to get out some old clothing that is now too small for you and that you promised yourself you would get back into someday. Now is the time to hang these items of clothing around your home to remind yourself of what you’re working towards, and that it’s not impossible because you once fit in these items of clothing. It doesn’t have to just be clothing either, maybe you’ve got a swimsuit you once wore, or a towel that used to be able to easily wrap around you. The more creative you are, the more chance you’re giving yourself.
Buy equipment now
Rather than waiting until the new year, why not invest in the gym equipment now so that when it comes to it you’ve got no excuse but to get on with your exercising. There won’t be any delay in when you can begin working towards the body you’re dreaming of!
Pre Plan meals
Between now and the time you’re planning on changing your lifestyle, sit yourself down and plan out some meals that are both low in calories and nutritious too. This will allow you to refer back to it when you’re struggling to think of what to have for dinner. You’ll then be able to choose a low calorie meal for you to enjoy instead.
Do it with a friend
Make it easier on yourself and gain the support from a close friend who wants to take the journey with you. This is especially useful for when you’re feeling like you might break, you can call them and encourage each other to continue!
