One of the mindset exercises that I recommend in the 3-day Mindset Challenge for weight loss emails is to write a letter to your body. You can read my letter to my slim and healthy body below. I wrote this right at the beginning of my own weight loss journey and then a further letter I wrote a few months later.
I’M WRITING TO YOU TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I’VE MADE A DECISION TO LOSE WEIGHT. I’M SORRY FOR ALLOWING MYSELF TO PUT ON ALL OF THIS WEIGHT. I’M SORRY THAT I’VE NEGLECTED YOU SO MUCH OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS (13+). I KNOW THAT YOU’RE PRETTY AWESOME AND I KNOW THAT YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I NEED TO BE SLIM AND HEALTHY, BUT WHAT I FORGOT TO DO WAS LISTEN TO YOU. INSTEAD I ATE TO MAKE MYSELF FEEL BETTER, TO STOP MYSELF FROM BEING BORED, TO FILL AN EMOTIONAL GAP, BECAUSE IT WAS THERE AND THEN IT JUST BECAME A MINDLESS HABIT AND TO TOP IT ALL I DIDN’T GIVE YOU THE PHYSICAL EXERCISE YOU NEEDED EITHER. SO I’M SORRY. I’M GOING TO DO MY BEST NOW TO LISTEN TO WHAT YOU NEED.
MOST OF ALL I’M SORRY FOR ALL THE CRAPPY, NEGATIVE STUFF THAT I EVER THOUGHT OR SAID ABOUT YOU.
NOW I’D LIKE TO ASK FOR YOUR HELP IN LOSING THIS EXCESS WEIGHT. I KNOW THAT I’M SUPPOSED TO BE NATURALLY SLIM AND HEALTHY.
I WANT TO BE SLIM AND HEALTHY, EAT A HEALTHY DIET (BASED ON LISTENING TO MY BODY) AND GET LOTS OF NATURAL EXERCISE.
I INTEND TO SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT MY BODY, CHERISH MY BODY AND LOVE MY BODY STARTING RIGHT NOW, RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND.
I ALSO WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT IT’S SAFE TO LOSE THIS EXCESS WEIGHT NOW. LIFE IS GOOD AND IT’S A GOOD THING TO GO BACK TO MY NATURALLY HEALTHY AND SLIM STATE.
THANK YOU BODY FOR THE AMAZING THINGS YOU DO EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY WITHOUT ME NEEDING TO ASK YOU.

This was an important letter, that served to clear out the old and allow for new positive changes.
Today I want to share another letter I wrote to my body now I’m almost 6 months down the road on what I feel is a positive and natural weight loss journey.
I want to say thank you for supporting me and helping me on this weight loss journey. I know you’re feeling better now as we lose this excess weight and become fitter and healthier.
I know I still eat a few too many chocolate bars, I hope you’re okay with that as I’m making a big effort to also feed you lovely nourishing foods and drink lots of water.
I hope you’re enjoying our walks and some of my crazy exercise routines 🙂
I love that you’re slimming down now and looking more and more toned.
I know the scales are not moving so much at the moment, I’d really like to see a shift there, but my clothes are feeling even looser and my black trousers especially are going to have to go in the charity bag soon.
They’re best trousers, so I’m making the most of knowing that I’m almost too slim to wear them now.
I’m looking forward to having new smaller sized clothes to wear.
Please know It’s a good journey and a wonderful journey.
