Well the summer hols are over and it’s back to normal life and a normal routine for me and that’s certainly a good thing with regards to staying focused on achieving my ideal weight, being healthier andgetting fitter.
My son spent much of the summer holidays away with his dad. After 4 years of this happening, it is getting easier to deal with, especially as my son is getting older now (14). But it’s still a time I find difficult to deal with. I work on staying positive and focus big time on my business whilst he’s away. To be honest, that was enough for me. I did eat much better this year than I have in previous years.
I used EFT to avoid too much comfort eating and to release negative emotions that came up. That definitely helped. Apart from a few really good walks, including my 7 mile Rutland Water walk and the walks I did when I was on holiday, I really haven’t been keeping up with my 10,000 steps a day. In fact towards the end of the summer hols I completely ditched the pedometer. It’s back on now though.
JM went back to school yesterday, so I’m back to walking with him to the top of the village where he catches his school bus. He’s 14 so really doesn’t need me to walk with him, but if I didn’t go then I probably wouldn’t. So it works fine. It’s not cool apparently to walk up for him in the afternoon as all the other kids are walking down at the same time.
Anyway, so Indie and I get a good 20 – 30 minute walk in first thing in the morning before I start work. I know it’s not a massively long walk, but it is a huge improvement to what I was doing at the beginning of the year.
With this walk and house jobs, the odd quick exercise blast throughout the day such as Star Jumps, Stair runs… means I top my 10,000 steps a day fairly easily.
I haven’t quite got back into my weekly meal planning yet. I will get that done for next week though as I find it really helps me eat healthy and I need to be far more organized during school and work time. You can check out how I go about meal planning for the week here.
Back to Basics
During September, I’m really going back to basics
- Drink a glass of water when I get up plus 4 big glasses throughout the day.
- Walk 10,000 plus steps a day at least 5 days a week
- Plan out all of my evening meals
I’ll also be using EFT and sharing some of my sessions on the YouTube Channel so keep an eye out over there. You can subscribe to my channel so that you never miss any tips.
And I’ll be listening to my Hypnosis Downloads recording as I go to sleep to help me reprogram for my ideal weight even more.
