As I’m starting my Weight Watchers journey, I thought I’d share my thoughts on some of the meals I’m trying. So, just to let you know, I’m not normally a fan of prepacked meals, but I thought I’d like to try a few and have a few in the freezer on stand-by.
What I like about the pre-packed meals
I like having some variety. I’m not a great cook. I do cook from scratch most of our meals but I really wanted to try out a few other meals that I probably wouldn’t make at home.
That being said, I do cook curry regularly, so basically, I just wanted to try this one.
Also, my son’s just started college and out eating times have gone completely out the window, so it’s really nice to have a quick and easy meal for myself if he doesn’t want to eat (sometimes he eats when he’s out).
My thoughts on the Weight Watchers Chicken Curry
Okay, so overall I really liked this meal, so let’s start from the beginning.
Compared some of the other Heinz Weight Watcher meals I bought, this meal seemed very small. And once I emptied it on the plate it didn’t look that exciting. In fairness, that was probably down to the way I emptied it out.
The taste was actually really nice and for the size of the meal, there was a good amount of chicken.
it’s a fairly low count meal at just 9 Smartpoints
Would I have this meal again?
Yes, I would have this meal again as a quick stand by. I’d add some chopped banana or pineapple to bulk it out more.
If I was making a curry at home I’d add broccoli, peppers, apple, onion as I cook it. I think I could definitely create my own curry for the same or fewer Smartpoints. If you have any recipes you recommend, please add them in the comments below.
Let me know if you have any other meal recommendations that are low in Smartpoints.
P.S. I’m only just starting out on Weight Watchers. Please let me know if you’ve had success with them. I lost 2lb in my first week and I’ll be adding regular weekly updates here on the blog.
