As a life coach of many years, I believe that whatever goals people are working on in their life, they ultimately want to be happy. So today I’ve put together 10 tips for a happier life.

1. Get clear about who you are and who you want to be
Clarity is the first step in the law of attraction process. Most people want to jump into what they want, but I strongly encourage you to start with who you are and who you want to be. When I first learned about the law of attraction I wasn’t happy with the way I was living my life and the person I was being. So, I got clear about the person I wanted to be and made it a priority to become that person.
For you this may be that you want to be a confident person, so you’ll want to set time aside regularly work on building your confidence.
I’m guessing if you’re here on my site, you want to be healthy, fit, slim… So, stick around for regular tips.
For me, one of the key things I focus on is that I want to go to bed every night and like myself, like the way I live my life.
2. Understand that real happiness must come from within
Whilst friends, family, experiences, things definitely add to our happiness, ultimately real happiness has to come from within. In my course How To Be Happy I help you to develop a real inner happiness.
Look to yourself for happiness rather than expecting others to make you happy. Your goal is to be happy deep down and anyone or anything else simply adds to that happiness.
3. Make a decision to be happy
I know this sounds a bit ridiculous, but seriously, make a decision to be happy, make a decision to prioritize being happy. You can even write your decision down. It is said that every achievement starts with a decision. I totally agree with that.
4. Make time for happiness
I question I would often ask coaching clients was “What have you done this week that really made you happy?” I often got silence as the reply. I also got the reply, I’m too busy to do things I actually enjoy. I hope this is not you, but if it is, it’s time to slow down and prioritize your happiness.
5. Make a happiness list
Make a big list of things that make you happy, things you really enjoy doing, from simple things like smelling a flower to traveling to new destinations you’ve always wanted to visit. Add anything you enjoy doing and then remember tip number 4 – Make time for happiness. Fill your day to day life with as much happiness as you can.
6 Practice affirmations
Affirmations are positive, usually present tense statements that we say to ourselves. Here are a few affirmations for happiness that I like.
- I am focusing on creating happiness in my life every day
- Happiness is my birthright and I embrace this wonderful feeling
- I spread happiness vibes everywhere I go
- I live in deep happiness
- I am happy at a very deep level
You can of course create your own affirmations. Just watch out for any negative self talk and replace it with something positive.
7. Visualize yourself happy
Imagine yourself being, feeling really happy. How do you hold yourself? What are you doing? How do you interact with others? Visualizing the life you want is incredibly powerful and always time well spent.
8. Try Hypnosis to help
I love hypnosis downloads – Use these audios to help you improve your happiness. I like to listen to these downloads at bedtime and have found them personally to be incredibly powerful.
9. Practice EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)
You can use EFT for times when you’re feeling sad, angry… to release negative emotions and you can also use EFT to improve your happiness levels. You can see my full EFT playlist, in particular, I’d love you to follow along with my EFT Tapping for more happiness video.
10. Keep a happiness journal
Keep a daily happiness journal and write about things that have made you happy every day. You can, of course, write in as many things as you want. However, to start I recommend you focus on 3 things daily. This will help you train your mind to focus on happiness and the happiness you already have in your life.
I hope you find these tips helpful and I hope you do prioritize happiness in your life – We all deserve great happiness.
