Let’s face it. It’s not the easiest things to lose weight, is it? Well, at least it’s not for me. There are definitely days when I feel like I’m not getting anywhere and all I want to do is eat everything along the chocolate aisle.
One of the ways I keep myself feeling good about myself and positive is using affirmations.
I’ve picked out 7 of my favourite affirmations to keep me on track and feeling good. I’ve included a bonus affirmations for weight loss video at the end of this post. I sometimes think hearing the affirmation is even more powerful than just saying it to yourself.

How to use affirmations
You can say your affirmations at any time. The most important thing is to fill your mind with positive thoughts instead of letting in negative thoughts that can sabotage you.
Here are some ideas.
- First thing in the morning before you get up – Have a list of affirmations by your bed
- Before you go to sleep
- Pin individual affirmations around the house, especially in the kitchen where there may be food temptations
- Record your affirmations and play them during the day

I definitely focus on creating a healthy lifestyle. When I feel tempted to go for the unhealthy options (too much) in my life, I find this a really powerful affirmation.

You can use this for any small change you make and every time you move a tiny bit closer to your weight loss goal. I also like to repeat this to myself when I’m out walking. It encourages me to walk just that little bit further.

This affirmation really helps me to focus on eating healthy and drinking plenty of water. I also really encourage you to add Things like I love my body or I love myself. Self-love is so important in all areas of our life but I feel even more so when it comes to weight loss and building a healthier lifestyle for ourselves.

This affirmation motivates me to add exercise to my daily life, whether that’s a walk, dancing around in the kitchen or a workout. The thought of strengthening my body really appeals to me. I want to be strong and healthy. Also if I’m doing a workout and feel like stopping, this helps me keep going.
I love and accept myself now as I learn more and more how to take care of myself
My favourite affirmation is I love and accept myself. On its own, this is really powerful. In this affirmation, I’ve just added more to make it even more specific. This really encourages me to take great care of myself. Something I haven’t always done.
My body rewards me for nourishing it and exercising
This helps me stay on track with healthy eating and exercising. It reminds me that my body will feel so much better if I eat well, drink plenty of water and get enough exercise in my daily life. I get my reward from the way my body feels.
I’m creating a healthy and happy lifestyle
I really love this affirmation. Ultimately I want to feel happy. When I feel unhealthy, I don’t feel happy. When I go to bed and feel ill or get out of breath walking up a couple of flights of stairs, I don’t feel happy. I’ll sometimes simplify this to “I’m happy and healthy. ”
