Do you ever get those times when you really want to eat something yet you know you’re not really hungry? I do.
That’s exactly what happened to me today. When that happens I always make sure I reach for a glass of water before food and I also like to do some EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques or tapping) to help release the feeling I’m experiencing.
Rather than just doing this alone, I thought I’d pop the webcam on and record it so that I could share it with you.
EFT script and video to help avoid overeating
I love EFT. It’s so simple and powerful and the beauty of it is that we can do it on our own whenever we need to.

EFT SCRIPT for when you want to eat but you’re not really hungry
Note this script is not the script in the video.
I always recommend that you start with one full round of tapping on stress. Even if you don’t particularly feel stressed, it’s still a good idea.
Set up: I’m tapping to release any stress (three times)
Reminder phrase on all points – STRESS
If you do feel particularly stressed, which definitely leads to over-eating for me, do a second round…
Set up: This remaining stress
Reminder phrase: remaining stress
Now move onto tapping on the problem
In this case it’s wanting to eat when you are not really hungry
Set up: Even though I want to eat and I know I’m not really hungry, I love and accept myself (three times)
Reminder phrase: choose either NOT REALLY HUNGRY or I WANT TO EAT
I recommend that you do 2 full rounds of this.
Finish off with a self-love round
Set up: I love and accept myself
Say this as your reminder phrase also.
Drink some more water now.
Drinking water will really help the EFT to be even more effective. With EFT you are improving the energy flow in the body and water will help with this too along with the tapping.
You don’t have to follow my words, in fact, it’s better to use your own, but this will give you a good idea of how to use EFT in the situation where you find yourself wanting to grab something to eat when you really do know you’re not hungry.
