The 5-day 10,000 daily steps challenge has finished and I was so, so tempted to be a lazy daisy today. But I thought about how proud I was of myself at the end of the challenge and I get up and got moving.
And I’ve got my 10,000 steps in again.
The challenge really did give me that boost I needed. I just thought “You know what? I can do it. There’s absolutely no reason at all for me not to get up and get moving and get those extra steps in.” So I did.
My son wanted to go into the city today to get some new t-shirts. He’s on a DC mission (Batman, Superman, Flash and Green Lantern). I felt like we’d done a fair bit of walking but by the time we got home around 1.30pm I wasn’t even on 5000 steps.
Took Indie for a walk.
Get up and get moving
By the evening, I still hadn’t done more than 7000 steps and I relly wanted to just chill out. I love YouTube and I had a few video’s I wanted to watch, so I thought right!!!! GET UP AND MOVE whilst you watch them, Wendy!!!
I walked, marched, jogged on the spot. Made up a few random moves that involved wide side steps whilst waving my arms around. You know what, it really doesn’t matter how you do it, just move. That’s my theory anyhow.
Food wise it’s been a bit of an off day, but still a huge improvement on what I used to eat.
Breakfast was fine and I had a little snack before we left the house so that I wouldn’t feel really hungry around the shops. Then my son and I shared a small portion of chips and a sausage each. Now I know this isn’t the healthiest of foods but we like it and I felt fine about what we did. In the past, we’d have had a normal sized portion that was in fact way to big and maybe a can of pop each.
We both had enough and we both enjoyed sharing. It was nice.
The problem was when I got home. I seem to have eaten a lot and to be honest I can’t even remember really what I have eaten. So I’m a little disappointed with that.
I’m thinking I might do a foodie type challenge next week. Another 5-day challenge. I’ll keep you posted.
After my steps boost later this evening, I feel I’m ending on a really positive note.
So I’ll say goodnight now and go and think about what my next challenge is going to be.
Best wishes always
