No fizzy drinks for a whole week, WHAT!?!?! Are you crazy, I hear you shout.
Well, that’s my challenge for you this week. 1 full week of NO fizzy drinks. Are you up for it?
I absolutely love my fizzy drinks especially Pepsi Max, but here’s the thing. I know it makes me feel bloated, and I know it makes me cough (I think the coughing is just me personally).
Now, it says there’s no sugar in the one I drink but seriously it’s chemical city really isn’t it?
Lots of the fizzy drinks are either packed with a ludicrous amount of sugar or sweeteners. Both, I feel are not good for us.
Take a look at this article I found 11 reasons to stop drinking fizzy drinks
No fizzy drinks = A flatter tummy
Okay, so let’s do a little disclaimer here. I’m not a medical professional or health professional and I haven’t studied this theory with 1000’s of people for the past few years. Nope sorry.
So, my bold claim is a simple observation in my own body.
Whenever I’ve skipped the fizzy drinks for a few days I’ve noticed I have a flatter tummy. I mean, think about it for a few seconds, all that gas going into your body, only two things are going to happen, right?
It’s going to stay in your body and make you feel bloated or it’s going to need to escape somehow. Neither options are particularly pleasant.
Add more water on your NO Fizzy Drinks week
Here’s a fantastic swap if ever I saw one.
Swap your fizzy drinks for water and you’re giving yourself 2 bonuses.
- You’re not putting the fizzy drinks in your body in the first place
- Your putting in water which your body likes

No Fizzy Drinks week – Mindset tip
I’m always a bit reluctant to suggest restricting your diet or telling you to cut things out.
We’ve all heard of and maybe even followed those diets where there’s a long list of foods we are not allowed (banned foods).
I don’t know about you, maybe it’s the rebellion in me. But when someone tells me I can’t have something or can’t do something, I want it even more.
So here’s a little mindset tip (no this is my specialty) – Instead of focusing on what you can’t have (No fizzy drinks), focus on what you’re going to get out of this challenge – Which is hopefully a flatter feeling tummy and feeling healthier. Also, you’ll hopefully be increasing your water intake too.
One of my favourite affirmations that can support you this week is – I nourish my body with fresh water and real foods.
Will I lose weight on the NO Fizzy Drinks Challenge?
Honestly, I don’t know for sure, but I think there’s a pretty good chance, especially if you’re swapping to water.
Here’s what I recommend. Measure yourself at the beginning of the challenge and again after a week and also weigh yourself.
I’m guessing you’ll see at least a shift in your measurements.
If you feel this challenge is going to be really tough for you, try some self-hypnosis
I love hypnosis audios and if you feel like this challenge is going to be a struggle for you, I recommend you try out this audio Stop Drinking Soda (affiliate link) – I’ve used downloads from this company for all kinds of things I’ve wanted to work on in my own life. They’re great value, they’re easy and they’re relaxing, which is always an added bonus. I usually listen to them when I go to bed.
So, are you up for the 1 week NO fizzy drinks challenge?
What do you think? Are you up for this challenge. No fizzy drinks at all for 1 full week. You can do it. I have every faith in our ability to do this. And remember, with any of the challenges, you can come to the Facebook group for support and a chat with likeminded people.
