Today I want to encourage you to focus on the person you want to be – The slim and healthy version of you. This is a powerful way to help you manifest your ideal weight, health and feel fantastic.
I want to share some ideas with you to help you achieve your ideal weight, better health and generally feel great and enjoy life.
Visualize the person you want to be
Imagine the person you want to be. What do you look like? How do you feel? How do you move around? What are you wearing? What do you spend your time doing? What kind of food are you eating?
One of my favourite visualizations that I love to do, is to imagine doing an interview with a chat show host. They congratulate me on how great I look and my weight loss and how I’ve maintained this for a long time.
They ask me questions about how much weight I lost, what changed in my life to achieve my weight loss and better health. They comment on how young and radiant I look and ask what I do to achieve this? They ask what was the biggest thing I did to achieve my weight loss and how my life is different now?
This is really lovely and powerful as it puts me in the mindset of that slim, healthy, happy, vibrant version of me.
Another thing I like to do is imagine myself living in my ideal home and being the person I really want to be. I am showing someone around my lovely home and I notice how I look, how I move around, the kind of things I have in my kitchen etc. We talk about how I spend my time and what kind of meals we enjoy as a family etc.
Give it a go, there are no set rules. Just enjoy this experience and keep doing it. I do this mostly at bedtime or if I have time, in the morning before I get up. I’ll also do it during the day when I have breaks in the day.
What meals would this version of you choose?
One thing you can do is to keep asking yourself, what meal would this version of me choose. Would she choose a huge piled up plate full or a light, smaller portion of fresh food that is beautifully presented on her plate?
Would she choose a big dessert or a small helping or maybe decline altogether if she feels like she’s eating enough.
Would she choose fizzy drinks or would she choose water?
Would she eat cheap chocolate bars and sweets or would she savour a couple of squares of high-quality chocolate or a piece of fruit?
Would she opt for processed food or fresh produce?
You can combine the visualizing and the “What would slim and healthy me choose?” question to really help you move toward being that version of you that you want.
How would the slim and healthy version of you spend her time?
Now, I don’t ever envisage myself being the kind of person that gets up at 6am to go for a 5-mile run and then hits the gym. But I do imagine that I am naturally active throughout my day. I dance around the house, I have a mini gym in my ideal home with a treadmill, rowing machine, weights and a punch bag (I definitely don’t have room for these things right now). I walk the dog or play with him in our big garden. I spend time gardening. I enjoy making our home look wonderful and keeping it clean and clutter free.
I also, have plenty of time for self-care such as pampering myself, relaxing with a good book, she’s not rushing around like a lunatic all the time, she takes time to enjoy life.
Also, think about how you carry yourself. How does this version of you move around? What clothes is she wearing…?
Add as much detail as you can so that you really start to feel like this version of you. Fall in love with the slim and healthy version of you, get to know her really well. You will naturally move toward being her in your real life.
