It’s day 1 of the slim down for Christmas Weekly weigh in challenge for me, you can join me any time you want. The goal is to slim down for Christmas. My personal goal is to lose 1 stone or more before Christmas.
I’ve just weighed myself. I’m using the wii balance board + wii fit to weigh myself as it creates these cool graphs over time to show how much weight I’ve lost which is quite a good motivator. Also I’m leaving it set up so that whenever I get 10 minutes throughout the day, I’m going to pop on and do some of the exercises.
Weekly weigh in and my slim down for Christmas weight loss goal
My weight today is 76.2kg (I like to work in stone and pounds so this is 11 stone 13.99 pounds, yes that .01 pounds makes a difference.)
My goal is to be in the 10 stone something range by Christmas, which means I need to lose a stone or more. Ideally more.
I think it’s doable.

My weigh in day will be every Monday and every day I’ll be adding a daily success. This is a wonderful way to stay motivated.
Getting more active
I’ve been averaging at around 7,000 steps over the past few weeks, so I am stepping that up to 10,000 steps or more daily.
As I write this I’m on 4763 steps at 9.52 so I’m well on track.
I intend to do 2 walks each day or one longer walk.
I’ve got the wii fit set up and ready to jump on throughout the day. I’ll probably do some of the exercises in the evening too.
I’m setting myself a goal this week of doing 10+ mini exercise boosts (not including the wii fit) each day.
And I want to add in workouts, I’m not going to give myself a set goal, I’m just going to see how this goes for this week.

Healthy eating habits for weight loss
I think my meals are mostly quite healthy already. My weakness is still the not so healthy snacks (chocolate wafers, biscuits..) and desserts. So meal planning and preparation are going to be key for me.
Last night I prepped a load of veggies for today. So as I type this up, I have a big pan of Veggie soup on the hob
Approx 8 Carrots
1/4 white cabbage chopped
1 cup of red lentils
1 chicken stock
1 tsp turmeric
I bring it to the boil, then simmer for approx 30 minutes. Leave to cool slightly then I pop the hand blender in (I like to leave a few chunky bits).
Tip: Do a big pan of soup to last a few days and just throw in whatever veggies you have.
We love beef stew in our house and there is really nothing easier than throwing a load of veggies and diced beef into the slow cooker with some stock and seasoning and leaving it to cook for the day.
I have to tell you right now with the soup cooking and the stew my home smells wonderful.
What I’ve put in my stew…
- Diced beef
- I’ve used a Schwarts slow cooker seasoning mix (Beef and Ale stew, but I’m not adding the ale)
- Cover with water
I will cook for about 2 hours on high and then turn down to low for the rest of the day. It will be super tender by the time we want to eat around 5.30pm
Forward planning my healthy snacks
I’ve found that planning out healthy snacks for myself really helps avoid temptation. I also know that if I’m hungry I CAN eat something.
My healthy snacks for today are…
- A delicious pink lady apple. Pink lady apples are one of the most expensive apples, but they are the ones I absolutely love, so I’m seeing them as a lovely treat. Buy the ones you love.
- A banana. Banana’s really help to fill me up.
- A small portion of mixed fruit and nuts. (I’ve measured out using my small bowl, it’s a small dip bowl, and bagged up 7 days of fruit and nuts)
- I’m also allowing myself 2 rich tea biscuits if I want them at any stage.
- A small low-fat yogurt
If I find I’m hungry and need more, I can have more soup.
Daily EFT for Weight Loss
I’m going to be doing EFT daily. I have YouTube on my phone and when I’ve had my morning shower I like to put my moisturiser on and lay on the bed for about 10 minutes to let it soak in. So I’m going do some EFT then to start every day with something super positive.

Of course as an EFT master practitioner I can create my own EFT sessions and I will be doing that too, but in the morning I quite like following along with someone else.

Finishing off the day with Hypnosis for weight loss
I love hypnosis downloads and I’m going to listen to a download when I go to bed. It’s okay to fall asleep listening to them which is what I normally do. It’s relaxing and helps reprogram our subconscious mind.
Midday Guided visualization
At midday, I’m going to do a guided visualization. I’ll probably use my own most days as I really find it effective. Guided meditation to release excess weight

My affirmation for the week.
Every day I am getting slimmer, healthier and stronger. I’m making healthy choices now.
I repeat this affirmation regularly throughout the day and have it written down. I’ll probably write it out several times over and over throughout the day most days. I find this really effective. I’ll also repeat it when I’m in the car etc.
